Performance Engineering

Technical Specifications & Compatibility
These camshaft kits are compatible with a wide range of Harley-Davidson Twin Cam models (99-06 and 07-17). While several grinds are designed as bolt-in applications for stock engines, higher-lift variants require specialized components for safe operation.
- Cams with lift over .510" generally require high-lift valve springs.
- Gear drive installations require the removal of material from the inner surface of the stock gear cover.
- Installer must check coil bind, valve-to-valve clearance, and valve-to-piston clearance.
- S&S recommends the use of adjustable pushrods and new cam bearings/gaskets for all installations.
- A hydraulic press and professional-level tools are required for proper installation.
Note: Installation kits are required for proper setup and are sold separately. 1999 Twin Cam models require the use of splined cam drive OEM 25716-99. Gear drives may result in inherent increases in valvetrain noise.
